The Prosecco DOC Dutch Round saw the skies take center stage

The TT Circuit Assen staged two home podiums in 2015, as then rookie Michael van der Mark took the first two for the Netherlands in WorldSBK. With another year of experience under his belt and an upgraded Honda Fireblade with which to attack the Circuit van Drenthe, all eyes were on the 2014 Supersport Champion to once again get the home fans on their feet.

Jonathan Rea, after two podiums at MotorLand and losing out to his teammate in Race 2 at  the Spanish track, arrived to Assen as the second most successful rider of all time at the Dutch circuit, after Carl Forgarty, with a chance to add to his tally chasing down the all-time King of Assen. Teammate Tom Sykes arrived knowing he had finished top Kawasaki in Race 2 in Aragón, and Chaz Davies came fresh from a Ducati double.

In WorldSSP, Randy Krummenacher came into Round 4 with his Championship lead from reigning Champion and teammate Sofuoglu getting slowly smaller as the Turkish rider began to claw back ground. Key rival Jules Cluzel suffered a difficult weekend at MotorLand, but the Assen WorldSSP lap record holder was ready to reset, as was American PJ Jacobsen once the lights went out.

STK1000 saw chaos reign with red flags and restarts prefacing a sprint to the line, and the WIL Sport European Junior Cup also got on track for their second race of the season.
